General Philosophy

Joseph P. Ebbing is an objective purist Republican, strictly adhering to the following principles and propositions; (1) that all humans are created equal, and endowed by their Creator with unalienable rights to Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness; (2) that the State of Ohio was instituted to preserve and protect said rights and to promote our common welfare (3) that absolutely all political power and sovereignty are vested in the citizens of Ohio; (4) that the sovereign citizens would govern by the rule of law; (5) that pursuant to law the State government powers were divided into a legislative branch, an executive branch, and a judicial branch, each independent of one another but without any independent authority or power, but only with the limited authority precisely set forth by law; (6) that it was unnecessary to specifically mention Capitalism or the Separation of Church and State in the Constitution because they are indivisible with freedom, liberty and justice for all; and, (7) that in order for laws to be equitable, fair and just; laws must be absolute, accurate, immutable, precise, and applicable and adhered to by all.

The common good is the absolute and unqualified protection of every citizen?s life, liberty, property, and freedom to pursue their personal happiness. Laws may be enacted by the people to assure that every citizen is equally protected from the uninvited intrusion of another.

Joseph P. Ebbing is a Political Scientist strictly adhering to the laws of rational thought in analysis, correspondence, debate, discussion, judgment, and planning, not a politician. Politicians like magicians are skilled in the art of deception, distraction, misdirection, illusion, sleight of hand and trickery.

All humans are inherently good, having a natural propensity toward beneficial self-interest, and an equal capacity to do good or evil. Too many people deceive themselves into believing that they win or profit from cheating, concealing, confusing, deceiving, depriving, or wasting; when in fact the opposite is true. These vices are always consequentially self-destructive acts eventually resulting in significant loss to the perpetrator and victim.

Liberty allows for personal discretion and indiscretion, and responsibility for the fruit from each. Without liberty there can be no dignity, honor, justice, or self-development. Liberty, focused by the Biblical values of the Church and our bottom up government of the people, by the people, and for the people, are what made the USA exceptional and provided great blessings of growth, peace, and prosperity.

Although we are governed by the rule of law and not by any man we must hire public officials to enforce and uphold the law. My philosophy is true with these quotes by Edmund Burke.

Example is the school of mankind, and they will learn at no other.

Certainly, Gentlemen, it ought to be the happiness and glory of a representative to live in the strictest union, the closest correspondence, and the most unreserved communication with his constituents. Their wishes ought to have great weight with him; their opinions high respect; their business unremitted attention. It is his duty to sacrifice his repose, his pleasure, his satisfactions, to theirs,--and above all, ever, and in all cases, to prefer their interest to his own. But his unbiased opinion, his mature judgment, his enlightened conscience, he ought not to sacrifice to you, to any man, or to any set of men living. These he does not derive from your pleasure,--no, nor from the law and the Constitution. They are a trust from Providence, for the abuse of which he is deeply answerable. Your representative owes you, not his industry only, but his judgment; and he betrays instead of serving you if he sacrifices it to your opinion.

In effect, to follow, not to force the public inclination; to give a direction, a form, a technical dress, and a specific sanction, to the general sense of the community, is the true end of legislature.

The rights of the people are everything, as they ought to be in the true and natural order of things. But what is liberty without wisdom, and without virtue? It is the greatest of all possible evils; for it is folly, vice, and madness, without tuition or restraint.

Good order is the foundation of all good things. Justice is itself the great standing policy of civil society; and any eminent departure from it, under any circumstances, lies under the suspicion of being no policy at all.

A good patriot and a true politician always considers how he shall make the most of the existing materials of his country. A disposition to preserve and an ability to improve, taken together, would be my standard of a statesman. Everything else is vulgar in the conception, perilous in the execution.

If the people are happy, united, wealthy, and powerful, we presume the rest. We conclude that to be good from whence good is derived.

People crushed by law, have no hopes but from power. If laws are their enemies, they will be enemies to laws; and those who have much to hope and nothing to lose will always be dangerous. Bad laws are the worst sort of tyranny.

It is the function of a judge not to make but to declare the law, according to the golden mete-wand of the law and not by the crooked cord of discretion. Neither the few nor the many have a right to act merely by their will, in any matter connected with duty, trust, engagement, or obligation.

In vain you tell me that artificial government is good, but that I fall out only with the abuse. The thing! The thing itself is the abuse! These few have the passions of the one; and they unite to strengthen themselves, and to secure the gratification of their lawless passions at the expense of the general good.

The lawyers, as well as the theologians, have erected another reason besides natural reason; and the result has been, another justice besides natural justice.

The people never give up their liberties but under some delusion. The true danger is when liberty is nibbled away, for expedients, and by parts.

It is a general popular error to suppose the loudest complainers for the public to be the most anxious for its welfare.

Manners are of more importance than laws. The law can touch us here and there, now and then. Manners are what vex or soothe, corrupt or purify, exalt or debase, barbarize or refine us, by a constant, steady, uniform, insensible operation like that of the air we breathe in.

Whenever public officials fail to enforce and/or uphold the law, or enforce and uphold something not law; they betray their oath of office and commit theft in office by fraud. Tragically this is common in government and constitutes and encourages insidious parasitical counterfeit government leeches pretending as autocratic socialism; and, having subjugated the sovereigns, this sham government continues to suck every bit of freedom, liberty, property, and joy out of its victims.

We are no longer governed by the rule of law but instead we are governed by lawless lawyers.

Our once honorable Courts of Law have been replaced with treacherous Courts of Chance, because treasonous judges elevate themselves and their personal opinions above the law. Many public officials in the Executive and Judicial branches of government criminally betray their oaths of office by falsely asserting privilege, immunity, or discretion. Justice and order are now overridden by chaos and injustice, and our Republics instead now function as mere subdivisions of a National Police State.

Both Political Parties have taken part in the deceptive divisive practice of identity politics; intentionally destroying unity of principles by slander and gossip; vilifying a person or small group and then ascribing any meaningless label of commonality to artificially classify a group of people merely to attract enough attention to form an equally artificial opponent class. The entire purpose of identity politics is to create meaningless or petty strife to distract attention from the systematic theft by public officials of the people's wealth and liberty.

Identity politics gave birth to the relatively new religion of "Political Correctness" which has been defined as follows: "Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end. Political Correctness" is about Control, not Etiquette. Political correctness is the conscious, designed manipulation of language intended to change the way people speak, write, think, feel, and act, in furtherance of a socialist agenda.

Identity politics and political correctness have irrationally and needlessly created strife, dissention, and distraction to enable treacherous public officials to effectively devolve our government and invert political power from its constitutionally designed bottom up government, governed by the rule of law, into a top down socialistic government, governed by the rule of lawless lawyers.

"In a false quarrel there is no true valor." William Shakespeare.

Since before the raw deal, immoral politicians have seditiously lied, cheated, and usurped The American Way of assuring equal liberty and justice for all; and have propped up this lawless duplicitous police state that continues to suck the life out of our liberty and our economy.

The remiss media prevaricates, distorts, distracts, and conjures to delude the public about how the wealthiest and most generous nation could do more to provide a larger "safety net" to capture an ever increasing percentage of the population. A nation with a "National Debt" exceeding 19 Trillion Dollars is certainly not wealthy. And, the Federal Government has no purpose or authority to be generous. Government's so called safety net has so invasively entangled our personal lives, trespassed into the Church, and the market that it deleteriously constrains our liberty and our economy.

"Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive." Sir Walter Scott

Now the Democrats are calling for a socialist revolution! Convincing college kids that socialism will give them a free college education. How irrational is it to expect something of value for free, such as a college education; in order to increase your competitive value in the market place with the expectation of excellent wages; while at the same time advocating socialism which seeks to equalize incomes and at best pursues mediocrity? Besides, a revolution suggests a change of government. If the USA is not operating under Socialism now what is it? Certainly there is no need to have a revolution merely to increase the intensity of government control and transference of wealth.

There is no liberty, no honor, and no dignity in socialism; neither can there be any pursuit of happiness, but only contentment with mediocrity. Liberty thrives with capitalism and honor thrives with the Church.

There is no place for honest political debate. The media only promotes sensational gossip and petty personality battles in order to discourage any meaningful political debate.

We must unite now in meaningful political debate. I'm confident that we can learn from each other and develop unified solutions to reverse the destructive socialist policies and restore constitutional, free market policies that cause U.S. exceptionalism to restore our liberty and a thriving economy.

All that I do in my personal life, and all that I will do serving in my public life; I do to glorify God in accordance with Biblical principles in the way of my Lord Jesus. This I reveal, not so that you think me religious because I?m not, but so that you may be confident that I will not bring shame upon you who support me and you that I will represent. My human character traits of humility, compassion, mercy, and forgiveness have no place in a government governed by the rule of law.

In truth, by employing the Rules of Reason and adhering to the Laws of Rational Thought, with a diligent concerted effort, we can effect real measurable improvement in government so that you will know that you made Ohio better for you and the next generation.

"This above all; to thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, thou canst not then be false to any man." William Shakespeare.

"Bad men need nothing more to compass their ends, than that good men should look on and do nothing." John Stuart Mill.

We can ill afford to forebear this accelerating injustice of socialism. Contrary to what Gov. Kasich says, 1969 is the last time that there was a reduction in the National Debt. Socialism has always proven to be an immoral fallacy.

The Democrat Party is all in for Socialism. It appears that many established Republicans may be as well. We must unite and change the direction of our political course and notify all elected officials to effect the change back to Capitalism and reinstate the separation of Church and State; or we must change the elected officials.

I will diligently work to establish a secure, timely, and convenient way for us to unify for discussion, information and debate. Please contact me at Joe@ElectEbbing.com
